Landlord 101: How to complete a listing on

In the competitive landscape of property rentals, where platforms like SpareRoom, Zoopla, On the Market, Facebook Marketplace, Gumtree, and others vie for attention, a new contender has emerged—! What distinguishes Room Club from its rivals? It’s straightforward: it’s free and equipped with features facilitating cross-platform and social media promotion.

In our previous discussion, we delved into the section concerning property descriptions. Today, let’s explore how to complete the rest of the listing by following the correct procedures.

This section consists of two fields—on the left, the price, and on the right, the payment frequency (Per week/Monthly). We always recommend presenting the price per week, as most platforms we integrate with recognize prices weekly.

In this section, you can upload up to 5 images to enhance your listing. Ensure the following:

  • All formats are accepted except .WEBP.
  • Photos should have distinct names; we recommend naming them with “property name + bedroom/kitchen/bathroom/garden,” e.g., “Oliver House Kitchen 1.”
  • The photo resolution should be from 1440x900px.
  • Individual photo sizes should not exceed 500 Kb.

This section provides crucial details about the property you are promoting. Specify the availability of the property/room, the number of bedrooms, available bedrooms, living rooms, and bathrooms. Ensure the following:

  • The “Living room” field should not be “0” or left empty.
  • The “Shared Accommodation” status should always be confirmed, whether applicable or not.
  • If you have a PRS License, include the code.

List everything that makes the room/property unique in this section! Select items from the list to provide as much information as possible to captivate the attention and interest of your ideal client.

Energy Class.
Currently, details in the “Energy Class” section are not mandatory. However, soon the law will require advertisers to disclose the energy class of the property. Keep an eye out!

This section is extremely important, as several things can go wrong and jeopardize the chance of securing a client! Follow these points to enhance compatibility with the platform’s integrations:

  • Choose the complete address suggested by Google’s autocompletion from the “Address” field.
  • Ensure the pin on the “Map” is in the correct location, or click “Place the pin in the address above.”
  • Confirm that the city and postcode are correctly entered or enter them yourself.
  • Clear all details in the “Address” field, leaving only the street.

With this final adjustment, our in-depth guide on preparing top-notch listings on concludes! Stay tuned for more insights.
