The Stansted Express is a train that connects London Stansted Airport to Liverpool Street Station. The service has a frequency of one train every 15 minutes and the trip lasts from 46 minutes to more than one hour during peak hours. To please the demands of all the service is active from the early hours of the morning until late at night.
Unlike the Heathrow Express and Gatwick Express services, the service is not non-stop and stops at the Tottenham Hale intermediate stations (with the London Underground interchange for easy access to the West End and North London) , Bishops, Stortford and Harlow.
The Stansted Express initially used a fleet of five Class 322 trains before the passage to a dedicated train was decided, the Class 317 of which nine copies came online. Today a fleet of twelve Class 317/8 trains is in service.
Although it is a means of transport particularly used and endowed with useful comforts, such as the snack service and the large spaces dedicated to suitcases, it is certainly not the most economical; the full roundtrip Stansted-Liverpool Street station cost in fact £ 28.80. Tickets can be purchased at the ticket office of the airport and Liverpool Street Station, but it is said that buying it online (www.stanstedexpress.com) saves £ 2 while buying it directly on the plane (as it is possible on flights Ryanair) the total price is £ 25.
More if you are looking for a more economical way to get to Liverpool Street station from Stansted airport or vice versa, know that there are more recommended means of transport, one above all is the Terravision Bus, which operates the same service at the cost of £ 14 one way and back, decisively the most convenient option !.
