One of the things that I’ve found exciting in London is their underground pubs. Although speakeasies are not that popular anymore, the Mayor of Scaredy Cat Town is truly an exception. You would have to walk in through a Breakfast Club in Liverpool Street and pass a handcrafted refrigerator.

The Breakfast Club is like your ordinary diner in London, but most of the customers that go there do not usually intend to eat in the club. People usually go here to see the Mayor. To enter the Scaredy Cat, customers would need to tell Alice the secret password, “I came here to see the Mayor” and she will lead them to a refrigerator door.

Once opened, you would need to go down a dim-lit stairwell then you’ll see the Mayor of Scaredy Cat Town. There are tables, chairs and a bar that customers can choose to sit. The ambiance is really great because you’ll easily forget the outside world.

The place is filled with cat bowls on the floor, and the walls are filled with “No Heavy Putting” posters. The music is also great because it gives you a good mixture of hip-hop, rhythm, and blues, funk and disco coming from old-school speakers.

Although the food menu of the Mayor of Scaredy Cat Town is just a short list, you can expect that everything would be well-seasoned and cooked to perfection. There are only 4 foods in their menu, but all perfect to share. This includes:

  • The Mayor’s Cheeseboard, which costs £9.
  • Pulled Pork Sliders also £9.
  • Chicken in a basket £8.
  • Philly cheese burger £8.
  • Truffle & Parmesan fries £6.
  • Quesadilla Platter also £9.
  • Salt and Pepper Calamari also £9.
  • They also have side of chips for £4, Sicilian green olives for £5 and toasted almonds for £4.

What the Mayor of Scaredy Cat Town is most famous for are their drinks. You will surely forget the time and weather in London because of their well-mixed drinks. These include:

  • Peachy Keen £9.
  • Chiquita £9.
  • Sweet Spot £8.
  • The Basic Kitsch £8.
  • Zecapa Su Casa £8.

After you dine and drink, the way out would be at the left door which is actually a bathroom door of the Breakfast Club. This is to ensure that the “secret” of the Mayor will stay as a secret from the rest of the people.

There’s no doubt that the Mayor of Scaredy Cat Town is a great place to visit if you’re looking to forget your day out in London. You’ll surely enjoy the great ambiance, music and, of course, their foods and drinks.
